Hello Trailblazers!
My name is Lindi Coker, and I'm happy to be a fourth grade teacher at DeSoto Trail. My wonderful husband and I have two beautiful trailblazing daughters. I grew up in Tallahassee and moved to the DTES school zone so that my children could attend. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, learning ballet, tap, and jazz dancing, reading, and trying new foods.
I earned my professional teaching certification through the University of West Florida. Prior to teaching, I graduated from Florida State University’s College of Business. After working in the corporate sector for many years, I decided to return to school to pursue my passion for teaching. I interned in the fourth grade at DeSoto Trail Elementary during the 2011-2012 school year while my oldest daughter attended kindergarten. After my internship, I had the privilege of working with reading intervention groups in first grade at DTES. Watching children develop their reading skills and begin reading for enjoyment was a very rewarding experience. I have been teaching fourth grade since 2013. I am thrilled to be a teacher and I love teaching at such a fantastic school. I find that being a part of a child’s social and academic development is so rewarding to me!
