DUAL ENROLLMENT OPTIONS

On-Campus Dual Enrollment

  • Notice to Juniors Regarding Dual Enrollment Classes 

    It is not too late to start thinking about beginning your college coursework. Students who qualify for Dual Enrollment Program can accrue college credit in their senior year.

    This notice is to remind you to register now to take the ACT or SAT as soon as possible.

    These are the requirements for FAMU dual enrollment on Chiles campus ONLY!

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. You must have proof of a qualifying test score in one or more of these three test and submit an application by April 30, 2021 to be placed in the class. Applications will be distributed with course request forms when you have approval from that dual enrollment teacher(English or Math). Late applications, waiting on test scores, may be submitted between May 1 - May 21, 2021, pending available space in that class. The final date to submit an application for consideration with qualifying test scores is May 21, 2021. 

    SAT scores: MATH (530) READING and WRITING (500)

    ACT scores: MATH (21) ENGLISH (17) READING (19)

    *** The SAT or ACT must be taken before you are allowed to take the PERT. The PERT will only be given as a second option, NOT FIRST.

     

    2. You must have a cumulative 3.0 unweighted grade point average in the final grading period this school year. If a student has a GPA below 3.0 due to an attendance failure, they will not be allowed to take dual enrollment classes. (Must have earned credit in Algebra 2 for Dual Enrollment Math) 

    3. Dual Enrollment attendance allows students to miss a MAXIMUM OF SIX DAYS excused, unexcused, or school related, per SEMESTER. School related activities over six absences are made up after the final exam.

    ENC1101/ENC1102 Freshman Composition (English)

    MGF1106/MAC1105 Liberal Arts Math 1/College Algebra (Math)**

       **Qualifying English/Reading/Writing AND Math scores are required for Dual Enrollment Math
