I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. My name is Elena Vogel and I am a Spanish teacher at Chiles High School. 

I am originally from Columbus, Ohio and moved to Tallahassee for a doctoral program at Florida State University in Spanish linguistics with a specialization in second language acquisition. I have taught Spanish for ten years at both the university level and the high school level. I have also worked and studied in various different countries in Latin America including Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Peru, and Colombia. I love teaching Spanish and am constantly looking for new ways to challenge the students. 

Please know that I understand the importance of preparing students for the rigors of life beyond their high school experience. Overall, it is my goal to provide engaging instruction that fosters critical thinking skills and communication skills. Learning a new language is not easy; however, as long as the students make an honest effort, I am sure that we will be successful. 

I consider it a great privilege and responsibility to be your teacher and look forward to working with each of you in the future.
