For Current Raa Middle School students…

Scheduling for the 2022-2023 has begun with the distribution of Elective Request forms by sixth grade World History teachers and 7th grade science teachers. Teachers will make core course recommendations (English/Language Arts, math, science, and social studies) for each student in Focus. All core and elective courses will be available for review in Focus by the end of April. Please see the Course Recommendation Guide  and Elective Course Descriptions for detailed information.

Special Note for High School Credit and Advanced Courses:  Placement in honors and high school credit courses require students to meet specific criteria. This is to ensure success throughout the school year in meeting the rigorous course demands. Please see the Course Recommendation Guide for these criteria. These courses follow class-size mandates so strict adherence to course requirements are followed.

Special Note for Advanced Art Courses: Raa Middle School advanced arts courses require teacher approval for students and an audition (when noted). Interested students will select the course on their Elective Request form. This does not guarantee enrollment in this course for the 2022-2023 school year. Arts teachers will then approve student elective requests and communicate their approval or denial to students and parents. Information about auditions will be provided by the teacher. See Arts Course Descriptions to determine appropriate elective choice.

For Incoming Raa Middle School students…

Elementary Teachers will make core course recommendations (English/Language Arts, math, science, and social studies) for each student. Any questions or concerns about these recommendations should be communicated to your student’s elementary teacher. Parents will receive a copy of an 2022-2023 Course Request form from their child’s elementary school.  These forms will be returned to the elementary school or to Raa Middle School c/o Mrs. Van Camp. Please join us for our Elementary Parent Night Tuesday, April 26th via Zoom. A link will be sent out on the Monday on that week.

Raa Middle School offers youth services through the New Horizons program. New Horizons is facilitated by Ms. Asya Scrivens who works with individual students or small groups of students to help students make constructive choices to increase positive and responsible behavior both at school and in the community. This is accomplished through and activity-based curriculum over 12 sessions.  The referral process for brick and mortar students is unchanged and begins with the Guidance Counselor. The referral process for Digital Academy students is listed below:

    1. Complete the Digital Referrals form. The form MUST have parent/student contact information.
    2. Email the form to scrivensa@leonschools.net
    3. Parents and students will receive contact from one of the digital focused DISC Village specialists to fill out the digital parent permission form.  Virtual Referral Form

Registration for the 2020-2021 school year is now open!
We have moved to an online registration form for the 2019-2020 school year. If your child is currently enrolled in any Leon County school (INCLUDING pre-k and charter schools), you do NOT need to complete a new registration form. The online registration form is only for:

    • Students Never enrolled in any LCS site (pubic, charter or preK)
    • Students not enrolled in an LCS school since 2015
    • Students who did NOT enroll through the school coice office
    • Students who have only ever attended a private school

How do I register my children?

Students NEW to Leon County Schools must complete an online registration form (CLICK HERE to access the online form) If your student is already enrolled in our system, but they are changing schools, you must bring proof of your address to your current school showing that you've moved into the Raa Middle School zone. Your student will automatically be transferred to our school, and you will have the opportunity to update your child's registration information through the FOCUS parent portal at the beginning of the school year.

You can find which schools your residence is zoned for by using the School Zone Lookup Tool on the school district's website.

For information about School Choice and Reassignment options, visit the school district's School Choice Website. Leon County Schools offers reassignment for sibling support, grandfathering, over to under capacity, and hardship. The School Choice deadline was March 1, 2019

What other items are needed to complete the registration process?

If you are registering your student for the first time, the following documents are required to be submitted to Raa:

    • a copy of the student’s birth certificate
    • proof of health examination from your physician’s office dated between 9/1/2018 and 8/11/2019
    • a Florida certification of immunization from your physician’s office or county health department

    • two proofs of your address such as:
