Coach Perry attended and played basketball in Wisconsin and furthered her education in Florida. She attended Florida State University where she walked on for the women's basketball team but vacated her placement on the team due to family obligations. She graduated from FSU in 1999 with a degree in Elementary Education and Physical Education. Coach Perry is currently the Physical Education teacher at Ruediger Elementary School.
In 2010, she started an AAU boy's basketball organization called Blazin' Heat Academics & Athletics of Tallahassee. The organization has allowed Coach Perry to coach, teach, and mentor many youths in Tallahassee and surrounding cities.
Coaching Accolades:
In 2015, Coach Perry's 6th grade Blazin' Heat AAU team won the Silver Championship in the Big Shots National Championship tournament. That win made them the #1 team in the State of Florida and 2nd in the nation.
In 2018, the 10th grade Blazin' Heat AAU team won the American Championship in the YBOA National Championship tournament in Orlando, Florida. Making them the #1 team in the State of Florida and #3 in the Nation.
In 2019, the 6th grade team placed 2nd in the YBOA National Championship tournament in Orlando, Florida.
In 2019, the 11th grade Blazin' Heat AAU team placed 2nd in the YBOA National Championship tournament in Orlando, Florida.
In 2020, the 12th grade Blazin' Heat AAU team won theYBOA National Championship tournament in Winter Haven, Florida.
In 2020, Coach Perry coached the RAA Rams Boys Basketball team to an UNDEFEATED season and won the Leon County Championship with a 12-0 record.
In 2021, the RAA Rams went 9-1 and lost by 1 point in the championship game.
In 2021, the 7th grade Blazin' Heat AAU team won the YBOA American Championship in Winter Haven, Florida.
In 2022, the RAA Rams went 9-1 and lost by 3 points in the championship game.
In 2022, the 8th grade Blazin' Heat AAU team won the YBOA State Tournament in Winter Haven, Florida.
In 2023, the RAA Rams went 8-2 and lost by 1 point in the championship game.
In 2023, the 9th grade Blazin' Heat AAU team won the YBOA National Championship Tournament in Winter Haven, Florida.
Coach Perry's coaching career has allowed her to increase her growth, knowledge, and understanding of the sport of basketball and love for working with children. Her goal for the season is to help each player improve their basketball I.Q., become fundamentally sound with their basketball skills, increase their love for the game of basketball, and have a winning season.
