Celebrate Literacy Week is a yearly initiative from the FLDOE to encourage children to read, as well as for parents to read to their children. This year’s Celebrate Literacy Week will take place January 25-29, 2021. We have several activities planned at school for this week, including the following Dress Up Days.
DRESS UP DAYS
Monday – We’re “Red-y” to Read! (Wear red clothing)
Tuesday – Hats Off to Books (Wear a hat)
Wednesday – Reading Makes Your Dreams Come True (Wear school-appropriate pajamas)
Thursday – Books Brighten Our Lives (Wear bright colored clothing)
Friday – Book Character Dress Up (no parade)
In our ongoing efforts to enhance your child’s safety and simplify dismissal… We have implemented PikMyKid. Using this new way of dismissal allows the parent to "annouce" their arrival in the afternoon. The student will see the announcement and head to parent pick up from their classroom.
As always if you have any questions, contact me directly at mcfarlandk2@leonschools.net.
