    Head Coach- Bawana Perry
     

    Coach Perry attended and played basketball in Wisconsin and furthered her education in Florida.  She attended Florida State University where she walked on for the women's basketball team, but vacated her placement on the team due to family obligations.  She graduated from FSU in 1999 with a degree in Elementary Education and Physical Education.  Coach Perry is currently the Physical Education teacher at Ruediger Elementary School.

    In 2010, she started an AAU boys basketball organization in 2010 called Blazing Heat Academics & Athletics of Tallahassee.  The organization has allowed Coach Perry to coach, teach, and mentor many youth in Tallahassee and surrounding cities.  

    Coaching Accolades:

    In 2015, Coach Perry's 6th grade Blazin' Heat AAU team won the Silver Championship in the Big Shots National Championship tournament.  That win made them the #1 team in the State of Florida and 2nd in the nation.

    In 2018, the 10th grade Blazin' Heat AAU team won the American Championship in the YBOA National Championship tournament in Orlando, Florida. Making them the #1 team in the State of Florida and #3 in the Nation.

    In 2019, the 6th grade team placed 2nd in the YBOA National Championship tournament in Orlando, Florida. 

    In 2019, the grade 11th grade grade Blazin' Heat AAU team placed 2nd in the YBOA National Championship tournament in Orlando, Florida. 

    Coach Perry's coaching career has allowed her to increase her growth, knowledge, and understanding of the sport of basketball and love for working with children. Her goal for the season is to help each player improve their basketball I.Q., become fundamentally sound with their basketball skills, increase their love for the game of basketball, and have a winning season.
