Dear Parents and Guardians:
The Superintendent and School Board, through the Safe Start Leon Plan, are providing parents the opportunity to make a change to their current educational delivery method of Brick and Mortar (in-person schooling) or Digital Academy (online learning) for the second nine weeks.
In order to prepare and plan for the second nine weeks of the school year we are asking parents who are requesting a change to their current educational plan to please contact their school between the dates of Tuesday, September 29 and Friday, October 9. If you are staying with your child’s current educational plan, no action is needed. The new educational plan and second nine weeks will begin on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
Whether a parent decides to change plans, or continue with their current plan, this choice will continue through the end of the first semester. Please be aware changing an educational plan may impact your student’s schedule, teacher and lunch period.
To highlight the process:
Thank you for your flexibility during these unprecedented times. Students and families throughout our state and country are all experiencing some of the same issues, concerns and anxieties. In meeting our mission of providing an educational plan during a pandemic, it is a priority for us to give families options to choose from that best fit their needs. The current status of school is not ideal but it provides the closest thing to normalcy we have. We will get through this period together.

Parents,
By visiting the link below, you will find information about updated 2020-2021 school bus stops. The 2020-2021 bus stops are the same locations as last year's (2019-20) school bus stops. If you have a returning student to ATMSA and you know the bus stop location from last school year, you may start using that location beginning Monday, August 31st.
If you are new to your school this year (i.e. sixth graders, ninth graders, kindergarten students, and students new to Leon County), you may find your bus stop time and location within the school routes. You will select the bus stop location and time nearest to your house.
As a reminder, this year, LCS will describe buses by route number. The route number will be displayed on the door side of every bus. Please remember that if you are attending a school on school choice, it is the family’s responsibility to provide transportation to the school. If your child is a current ESE student with an IEP requiring transportation, and you have questions, please call 487-7160
FYI: Your bus route can give you a hint to which compound the bus comes from. All routes that start with the number 1 are from Appleyard, routes that start with a number 2 are from Connor compound and routes that start with a number 3 are from Cox Compound.
