Mrs. Pack
The 2015-2016 school year begins my 31st year of teaching! I started my career in 1984 in Miami where I taught for 7 years. My husband and I knew that we didn't want to raise our children in a large urban area so we moved back home to the Tallahassee area. (I grew up in Tallahassee and actually went to Chaires, W. T. Moore the very first year it opened, Cobb and Leon High School) We live on a farm in Gadsden County so I taught there for 14 years before moving to Sealey 10 years ago. I can honestly say that there hasn't been a morning as I drove through the back gate that I haven't said a special prayer of thanksgiving for landing in such a wonderful school!
I hope that you'll find the initial workload and classroom expectations appropriate for your child. My goal early in the year is to make sure each child enjoys being at school each day. My main objective is to provide a comfortable classroom atmosphere, where the students feel challanged but safe enough to take some risks and to participate freely in class. The assignments and workload will increase reasonable as the year progresses.
Your child will have a homework folder that you should check nightly. Any important school/or grade level papers will be send home in these folders as well. On Fridays, we will use these folders to send home any checked and/or graded classwork from the week and your child's weekly behavior report. Please empty these folders over the weekend and return only the folder as well as the signed behavior sheet.
Please make sure that you check our websites frequently and sign up on Sealey's ListServe. Those directions are on a sheet in the information folder.
I look forward to the upcoming year with you and your child.
