Hello! Mr. Formato here! I am the science and social studies teacher for fourth grade and I work alongside Mrs. Prestia and Mr. Pendelton. This was a change earlier this year, as I previously taught all subjects with one homeroom, but I am very grateful to have gotten a chance to experience departmentalization and teaching my two favorite subjects to all of fourth grade! I have always been passionate about science and social studies and while I do enjoy all of the subjects, these are the two I've always liked the best. Science and social studies allow for a lot of critical thinking and tend to require creative ideas or solutions to solve problems. And even when problems have an obvious solution, I love seeing my students come up with new and different ways to approach it. Social studies is much in the same boat because although we cannot change history, we can think of ways peoples of the past might have approached certain issues better than they did. I hope this gave you a good idea of who I am and how I feel about my two favorite subjects and I look forward to working with you all in the coming weeks!
