For our students needing assistance with pragmatic (social) language we are trying a new approach this year.  Our CHATroom is our social skills “club” that runs first thing in the morning.  CHATroom stands for the Conversation, Humor, and Teamwork room.  With these students, we use a program called “Superflex” to learn about taking turns, building positive relationships through expected behavior, figurative language and idioms, and much more.

Below please find some vocabulary words that will help you talk with your students about the skills they are learning.  For more information, please contact us and/or view Michelle Garcia Winner’s Socialthinking.com website.
