Lt. Colonel Rodney Gumbish

Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI)

Lt Col Rodney A. Gumbish was the Commander of the 4th Medical Support Squadron, Seymour Johnson AFB, NC.

He led 92 personnel in six diverse flights and was responsible for a 60 million dollar annual operations and maintenance and private sector 
care budget, serving a beneficiary population of 31,000 and supporting 75,000 patient  visits annually.

He was dual hatted as the medical treatment facility administrator and directly supported wartime medical readiness for all Wing personnel. 
.
Lt Col Gumbish enlisted in the Air Force in 1993 as a cryptologic linguist.

He was directly commissioned in 1999 as a Medical Service Corps officer.

His leadership experience includes financial management, medical readiness and medical materiel 
management as well as multiple deployments in support of Operations ENDURING 
FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM.

Prior to assuming his current position, he served at MAJCOM level as Chief, Aeromedical Evacuation Operations Branch, responsible for 
aeromedical evacuation policies, concepts of operation, doctrine, and procedures supporting 3,757 personnel in 32 active duty, Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve Command aeromedical evacuation squadrons.

Additionally, Lt Col Gumbish is an American Hospital Association credentialed Certified Materials and Resource Professional.
