Here are some answers to commonly asked questions.

 Who can register for Kindergarten at Oak Ridge Elementary?

Your child must be five on or before September 1 to be eligible for Kindergarten. Students can attend the school for which they are zoned. Use the School Zone Lookup Tool on the school district's website to determine your school zone. For information about School Choice and reassignment options, visit the school district's School Choice Office website.

*If your child attended Pre-K with Leon County Schools, you do not need to re-register them. Please contact the school with questions.

When can I register my child for Kindergarten?

Online registration starts on March 21, 2022.  We encourage you to complete the registration process before May 25, 2022 (the end of the current school year). This allows us to begin the process of preparing for your student to join us for the 2022-2023 school year.

How do I register my child for Kindergarten?

Please see our registration page, the same process is required for all students registering at ORES. In addition, kindergarten parents are also asked to fill out a Kindergarten Information form found here. 

What is a kindergarten assessment?

To help us provide the best possible education for your student, all incoming kindergartners are invited to an optional assessment. This is a short evaluation provided by our kindergarten teachers to help determine the possible needs and strengths of your child.
