Springwood Elementary says NO to Bullying and will be focusing on anti-bullying and bullying prevention activities during the month of October. During Red Ribbon Week, special anti-bullying messages will be included on the morning show and on one of the days, all students, staff and faculty will wear blue to show that we Stomp Out Bullying at our school. Anti-bullying posters will be created and displayed around the school and students will be asked to sign an Anti-Bullying Pledge that will also be displayed at the school.
Please join us in saying NO to Bullying at our school and help us make Springwood a Bully Free Zone!!
As the first nine weeks comes to a close, Assistant Superintendent Gillian Gregory led a presentation in front of the Leon County School Board, providing members with updates after using the new hybrid learning model. This video features excerpts from the presentation, which featured feedback from nine teachers selected from throughout the district.
A native of Nairobi-Kenya, and a longtime teacher at Kate Sullivan Elementary School, Mr. Amon Rwito is multi-lingual—literally and figuratively—since he is fluent in five languages. He also strives to inspire a love for curiosity and discovery through the language of his favorite subject—science. Mr. Rwito is equally skilled in the written word and is a published author of a children’s book. His multi-cultural, multi-subject-matter approach allows for an “exchange of ideas and knowledge with my students. It’s important to want to learn from one another. I learn from my students more than I think I teach them.” #ThankATeacher
