Announcements

  • Hello, Springwood Elementary!

My name is Heather Summers and I am with the Junior League of Tallahassee. I am writing to let you know that we are conducting a food distribution event on March 13th from 9-11AM and would like to invite your students to attend! We would like your help identifying 30-50 students that would benefit from this program. Your students would pick up their food at Riley Elementary School.

This is our 2nd annual event and we are increasing our distribution this year to 250 Mighty Meals kits! Each Mighty Meals box will contain enough food to feed a family of 4 up to 3 meals a day for 7 days (the week of Spring Break). Mighty Meals boxes are handed out based on number of members in the household, so a family of 6 would receive 2 sets of meal kits and a family of 10 would receive 3 sets.

I have attached a registration form and parent letter that you can send home with the students you identify. If you have any questions at all please don’t hesitate to ask. We are unfortunately making this ask later than I would have liked, but we are finding that we have more boxes available than originally expected.

Say No to Bullying

  • Springwood Elementary says NO to Bullying and will be focusing on anti-bullying and bullying prevention activities during the month of October.  During Red Ribbon Week, special anti-bullying messages will be included on the morning show and on one of the days, all students, staff and faculty will wear blue to show that we Stomp Out Bullying at our school.  Anti-bullying posters will be created and displayed around the school and students will be asked to sign an Anti-Bullying Pledge that will also be displayed at the school.

Please join us in saying NO to Bullying at our school and help us make Springwood a Bully Free Zone!!
