Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Christina Maysonette

Originally from New York, I have studied at the City College of N.Y., Hunter College of N.Y., and finally Florida State University. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Child Development and Master's Degree in Education. I am certified to teach from age 3 through 9th grade. Originally my major was speech pathology, of which I have the equivalent of an Associate's in terms of credits, but life takes us in different directions and I eventually chose to study the psychology and development of children and how to best provide the most enriching educational experience I could for them, hence the degrees I have earned.

I speak Spanish and English, with a little French, German, and Yiddish thrown in for good measure. I enjoy reading, movies, and travel, and of course, being an educator.

Cobb is a very special school. It is the oldest Middle School in Tallahassee and has a long tradition of providing a wonderful environment for students, teachers, and their families. It is my goal to play a part in continuing this tradition as your child's teacher.  It is my mission as the facilitator and educator for our P.L.A.T.O and ISD programs here at Cobb, to provide all students with the tools and support they need to be successful in Middle School and beyond.

Please know that I am here for you and your student, if ever there is anything I can do to make your child's experience here at Cobb, and most importantly, in my classroom, the best it can be, please do not hesitate to ask! It is a priviledge to be a teacher and touch the lives of so many young people, I consider myself very fortunate!
