• Welcome to Ready to Ride Registration

  • Register 2 Ride

  • All students* must register to ride an LCS School bus each year before they may ride the bus.

  • Who Must Register

Leon County Schools requires all eligible students needing bus transportation through the school district for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year to register for a bus assignment. Students choosing not to ride a bus to school should NOT register to ride.

*NOTE: This transportation registration process is used for students who are requesting a bus stop for their ZONED school or special sites ONLY (SAIL High School, Ghazivini Learning Center, Rickards IB, and Fairview Middle Pre-IB). The transportation registration process for students in a special ESE program with transportation placed by IEP decision, Foster, Homeless, and Teen Parent, has not changed and will continue to be processed by schools, and those bus riders should NOT use this online registration form.

Parents and guardians must complete bus registration for each child separately to ensure their student is assigned to a route. Eligible students will be assigned only ONE bus stop, as determined by the student's official home address on file for the student in Focus.

Please note: Unregistered students waiting at a bus stop without a parent/guardian present will be transported to school and turned over to an administrator for a follow-up with the parent/guardian. Unregistered students will not be transported home after school. Transportation home for unregistered students will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian.

Non-Eligible students

    • Students on school choice are NOT eligible for bus transportation.
    • Students living less than two miles from their school are NOT eligible for bus transportation (unless the area has been determined to be hazardous based on Florida Statute 1006.23).
    • Courtesy rider eligibility for those who reside within two miles of their assigned school must be reviewed and approved by the Transportation Department before assignment.

Please note: Students NOT eligible to ride an LCS school bus due to the restrictions above, may instead opt to utilize the free StarMetro STAR Card program instead.
