About This Program
Welcome to the LCVS Entrepreneurship Academy, where tomorrow's entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders are shaped today! Our academy is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to thrive in the fast-paced world of business. At the heart of our academy is a comprehensive curriculum that blends rigorous academics with real-world applications. Students will learn about economics, finance, entrepreneurship, and business law to prepare them for success in any business endeavor.
Progression
Year 1 - Principles of Entrepreneurship (Honors)
This course will focus on outlining the steps in starting a business, how the economy plays a role in small businesses, the basic principles of marketing, selling, distributing, and financing, and workforce readiness skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur. Throughout the course, students will focus on learning about and practicing their entrepreneurial mindset, a set of skills and attitudes that are beneficial both personally and professionally.
Year 2 - Business Management and Law (Honors)
In Business Management and Law, students will explore key business management concepts, including human relations, sales and marketing, and finances. With a focus on the role of management in small businesses and the government regulations that impact businesses, this course introduces students to the principles of effective business management and the legal considerations and implications that underpin these practices.
Year 3 - Business Ownership (Honors)
The purpose of this course is to prepare students for careers as entrepreneurs, present entrepreneurship as a career path worthy of consideration, provide students with the skills needed to realistically evaluate their potential as business owners and to develop the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to start and operate a business.

What grades can participate in the Entrepreneurship Academy?
These courses are open to all 9th-12th graders.

Do students need to be full-time LCVS students?
Yes, students must be enrolled as full-time students with LCVS to participate. Click HERE for more information on becoming a full-time student.

Does my child need to be a resident of Leon County?
No, students must be a resident of Florida to enroll with Leon County Virtual School.

Is there an application process?
Yes, we are a school of choice, and you must apply and be accepted to attend. Click HERE for more information on becoming a full-time student.

Can full-time students participate in sports at their home zone school?
Yes, students can play sports at their home zone school. You would need to reach out to the athletic director at that school for more information.

Can students participate in dual enrollment while enrolled in the Entrepreneurship Academy?
Yes, students will have the option to dual enroll and earn college credits while enrolled in the Academy.

Will students be required to report to LCVS for in-person days/events?
Yes, there will be some in-person days that students in the Academy will be required to report for.
