Algebra I* (H)
Algebra 1 emphasizes the importance of algebra in everyday life through hundreds of real-world examples. Assessments are designed to ensure that your understanding goes beyond rote memorization of steps and procedures. Upon successful course completion, you will have a strong foundation in Algebra 1 and will be prepared for other higher-level math courses. This is a required math course for high school graduation.

Geometry* (H)
Geometry exists everywhere in the world around you. We use it to build bridges, to design maps, or to create perspective in paintings. Throughout this course, you will use problem solving and real-world applications to gain the knowledge of geometric concepts and their practical uses. This is a required math course for high school graduation.

Algebra II (H)
You will learn about polynomials, quadratic equations, linear and exponential functions, sequences and series, probability and statistics, and trigonometry. Throughout the course, these mathematical concepts are applied to everyday occurrences to demonstrate how the world around us functions.

Math for Data and Financial Literacy (H)
Pre Requisites: Algebra 1In Mathematics for Data and Financial Literacy, you will explore specific math skills to understand how money will impact your life from a personal and a business perspective. You will see how properly managing money can lead you to financial success and you will also learn how to analyze data to help you make decisions.Instruction will be focused to ensure mastery in these five areas: extend knowledge of ratios, proportions, and functions to data and financial contexts develop an understanding of basic economic and accounting principles determine advantages and disadvantages of credit accounts and short- and long-term loans develop an understanding of planning for the future through investments, insurance, and retirement plans extend knowledge of data analysis to create and evaluate reports and to make predictions -
Math for College Liberal Arts
Pre Requisites: Algebra 1 required, Geometry recommended
Mathematics for College Liberal Arts gives you the opportunity to explore a range of mathematical concepts and fields, all while connecting ideas to their application in our world. Major topics in this course include linear and exponential functions, geometry in the real world, analysis of data and probability, and the use of functions as models. Logic and theory as they apply to the practical use of mathematical concepts are introduced, giving you an understanding of how the principles of higher-level math connect to everyday life.
In Mathematics for College Liberal Arts, instructional time will emphasize five areas:
- analyzing and applying linear and exponential functions within a real-world context
- utilizing geometric concepts to solve real-world problems
- extending understanding of probability theory
- representing and interpreting univariate and bivariate data
- developing an understanding of logic and set theory

Math for College Algebra
Pre Requisites: Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 requiredIn Mathematics for College Algebra, you will acquire skills needed for success in college-level mathematics. You will integrate critical-thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and mathematics skills as you explore expressions, equations, and functions. Within this exploration, you will interpret the viability of solutions to real-world problems at the level of algebra required for entry into college-level courses.Instructional time in Mathematics for College Algebra will emphasize five areas: (1) developing fluency with the Laws of Exponents with numerical and algebraic expressions; (2) extending arithmetic operations with algebraic expressions to include rational and polynomial expressions; (3) solving one-variable exponential, logarithmic, radical and rational equations and interpreting the viability of solutions in real-world contexts; (4) modeling with and applying linear, quadratic, absolute value, exponential, logarithmic and piecewise functions and systems of linear equations and inequalities; (5) extending knowledge of functions to include inverse and composition.

Physical Science (H)
Ever wonder why more massive objects require more force to move? Perhaps you have questioned how new substances are made, or how energy is involved in changes in matter? These are some of the concepts students will be exploring in Physical Science. This course teaches the foundational concepts of physics and chemistry. Students will build an understanding of physical and chemical phenomena through scientific inquiry, interactive experiences, virtual and hands-on labs, higher order thinking, and collaborative projects, enabling them to apply these principles to their everyday lives.

Explore the structure, function, diversity, and evolution of living matter by taking an in-depth look at the fundamental characteristics of living organisms. You will have the opportunity to perform hands-on lab activities and develop relationships through collaborative learning. This is a required science course for high school graduation.

Forensic Science
Take a look at forensics through the lens of some of the world’s most famous and intriguing crime cases. This course examines the latest forensic techniques and innovations used to solve crimes. It also focuses on basic scientific principles and laboratory processes used in the field, such as DNA testing, toxicology, and material analysis. Investigative experiences for students include spectrometry, electrophoresis, and evidence analysis techniques. Students also study crime scene processing and evidence collection during crime scene investigations (CSI). This Forensic Science course satisfies state laboratory requirements.

Gain the skills to help you succeed in all areas of your life. You will learn how to take action, set goals, manage your time, and help your peers. This course is recommended for English Language Learner (ELL) students but open to all students. This course provides elective credit.

Increase your confidence and build your social skills as you learn how to conquer peer pressure, social anxiety, and the unnecessary risks that can derail your future. In this course, you’ll discover how your “super-charged” teen brain really works. By the end of your training, you will have new power to direct your own life and lead your classmates. This course provides elective credit.

Driver's Education (0.5)
Begin to develop safe driving skills by studying the Highway Transportation System, road signs, rules of the road, and how to make good choices behind the wheel. This course fulfills the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) required completion of the Traffic Law & Substance Abuse Education (TLSAE) course. As an added benefit for completing the course with FLVS, you will also be eligible to take the Class E Knowledge Exam for licensing online for FREE! This course provides elective credit.

This innovative course provides you with the foundational skills needed for future careers in a variety of technological fields. You’ll explore emerging technologies, digital design, Microsoft Office online applications, and much more! You’ll assess your strengths and learn how they relate to potential career opportunities. This course provides elective credit, fulfills the character education and practical art requirement for high school graduation, and serves as a prerequisite to many exciting Career and Technical Education courses. Students will be required to take an Industry Certification Exam at the end of the course.

Principles of Entrepreneurship (CTE)
Do you have a desire to follow your passion, control your schedule, and are willing to take risks and work hard? Do you have an innovative idea and want to start your own business but don’t know where to start? Having the right tools and knowledge about business plans, marketing, financing, and small business management will help you achieve your entrepreneurial goals. In Principles of Entrepreneurship, students will identify characteristics and traits of entrepreneurs and assess personal strengths and weaknesses for entrepreneurial success. This course will focus on outlining the steps in starting a business, how the economy plays a role in small businesses, the basic principles of marketing, selling, distributing, and financing, and workforce readiness skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur. Throughout the course, students will focus on learning about and practicing their entrepreneurial mindset, a set of skills and attitudes that are beneficial both personally and professionally.
At the end of the course, you will take the Entrepreneurship and Small Business (ESB v2) industry certification exam. The ESB certification validates that you have foundation-level knowledge in entrepreneurship and small business management.
