Hello!

My name is Breann States and I am a proud educator of almost 10 years. I graduated from Southeastern University with my degree in Elementary Education and with a minor. I am ESOL and Reading endorsed. My teaching experience began at a private school in Haines City, Florida, and I taught at an international school on the island of Saipan. I have settled in Tallahassee for the last 5 years with my family and have been teaching with Leon County schools since then. 

Reading has always been a passion of mine and I am excited to be able to share that love and passion for reading with my students. I have high expectations of my student's and know that they have the greatest potential to reach their goals and to discover what they are passionate about. In my classroom we value respect for one another and the school. You will hear me discuss respect for each other often and it becomes a strong foundation in my room that helps us to work together as a family. As the students are working in the classroom you will see that we are constantly in small groups, either with me, or other students, at a center or doing floor work together. We use flexible seating in the room while working in reading and social studies centers and small groups. During our whole group lesson we spend our time reviewing our standards and engaging in many cooperative learning strategies from Kagan.
