    Progress Alerts

Progress Alerts are sent home for students having difficulty during each nine week grading period, or when a student is not meeting expected educational or social outcomes.

    Promotion Expectations

Your child is expected to show mastery of all SSS benchmarks in reading, math, writing, science and social studies. Mastery is defined as 70 percent proficiency on each benchmark. Pupil promotion is based on each student’s achievement in terms of appropriate instructional goals.

    Conferences

Parent / teacher conferences are important supplements to the pupil progress reports sent throughout the school year. Conferences should be arranged in advance so both the parent and teacher may be prepared. A minimum of one conference is required in all grades. Parents may email, write a note or call the school office (921-1265) to set up an appointment with their child’s teacher.

    Homework

Homework will be given most nights in grades K-5. Intermediate grade students average 45 minutes of homework most nights. Studying, reviewing, and reading are included in this time. Homework assignments will be posted each day. Students in 3rd-5th grade should copy homework assignments on their student planners on a daily basis. Reading logs in grades K-5 are due each week with a parent signature.
