Dear KLES parents, guardians, and community,  
 

It is an honor to introduce myself as the Assistant Principal of Killearn Lakes Elementary School. Some of you may already know me from when I taught here (1999-2015), and let me tell you, it’s so nice to be “home”!  I am a proud alumnus of Florida State University having graduated with Bachelors’ degrees in Psychology and Exceptional Student Education, a Master’s degree also in Exceptional Student Education, and Educational Leadership certification.  I received National Board certification as an Early-Childhood Generalist while teaching right here at KLES.  I have held positions at all three school levels over the past thirty years.  I taught at the elementary level, was Dean and Assistant Principal at the secondary level, and returned to elementary about five years ago.  

Outside of work, my husband, John, and I have two beautiful children who both went through Killearn Lakes, Deer Lake, Chiles, and graduated from the University of Alabama...Roll Tide!  Our daughter, Courtney, went on to earn her PhD and is currently teaching at Mary Washington University.  Our son, John Tyler, decided to stay in Tuscaloosa and get his real estate license.  They’ve certainly made us proud, but I sure wish they lived in Tallahassee! 

I am thrilled to be back at KLES and look forward to getting to know each of your families in the coming months.
