Oronde McKhan is a dedicated educator with 19 years of experience in education. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Florida A&M University. While at Florida A&M University, he had the privilege of marching with the world-renowned “Marching 100”.  After graduating from Florida A&M, Mr. McKhan decided to further his education at Grand Canyon University, where he obtained a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.  Mr. McKhan has a deep passion for fostering academic excellence and community involvement.

Mr. McKhan's career began as a classroom teacher, where his innovative teaching methods and commitment to student success quickly earned him recognition and respect among his peers. His leadership skills were further honed through various administrative roles, culminating in his most recent position as Assistant Principal at Pineview Elementary School, where he successfully assisted with raising Pineview’s school grade from an “F” in 2018-2019 school year to a “B” in the 2023-2024 school year.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. McKhan is a devoted family man. He is married to his wife, Lashay, and they have a delightful daughter named Kaylee.

Mr. McKhan’s vision for Astoria Park Elementary School includes fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, enhancing academic programs, and building strong relationships with students, parents, and the broader community. He is excited to bring his passion and expertise to Astoria Park and looks forward to contributing to the school's continued success.
