Coach John Hollenbeck was born and raised in Upstate New York.  He graduated from Ithaca College (Ithaca, N.Y.) in 1980 with a B.S. Degree in Physical Education.  Coach Hollenbeck began teaching at Astoria Park Elementary in the fall of 1980.  He has taught Physical Education for 40 years at Astoria Park Elementary!  He is married to his wife Karen, who was a teacher at Astoria Park Elementary and currently works for Leon County Schools (FDLRS). They have 4 children. Kathryn (27) , Kristyn (24), Katelyn (21) and John David (18).  All of his children are Astoria Park Elementary Alumni.  Coach Hollenbeck is also the Head Baseball Coach at Florida High.  His hobbies include hiking, kayaking, and keeping physically fit.
