• Dear Parent or Guardian of a 5th or 8th grader,

Leon County Schools Policy 5112 requires verification of current residence of 5th-grade and 8th-grade students transitioning to middle school or high school. We will need both a primary and a secondary proof of address for your student (a list of acceptable documents is provided below). Your student will not be enrolled at their new school without this proof being provided.

Beginning March 20th, 2024 please upload the documents to your FOCUS parent portal account or email the documents to your student's current school's Enrollment Team. In the subject line, please put your student’s name and that you are providing proof of address for verification. For example, “John Smith Proof of Address for Verification.” We will contact you by email or phone call (please provide your phone number in the email) if we need something different from what is provided.

If you are not able to scan the documents, you can send them in with your student, or take them to your current school, and they can scan the documents to your student's account. If you have an extenuating circumstance or have questions, please reach the new school's Enrollment Team.

The deadline for address verification is Sunday, May 19, 2024. A student will not be enrolled in their new school until their address is verified.

Please note: if you have applied for School Choice you still must prove your address for promotion by Sunday, May 19, 2024.
