Choosing a high-quality daycare is a very critical and serious decision. We employ nurturing caregivers who understand the stages of child development, respect family needs, and promote cultural diversity. Our staff is dedicated to building strong partnerships with families to enrich children’s experiences. The welfare of our children is of utmost importance, and as such, staff members are evaluated, screened, and trained to provide the highest level of care. Team members attend annual trainings, including CPR and First Aid to ensure each child’s safety. Continuous staff training is required through educational workshops and seminars to maintain the highest standard of education and care for the children in our programs. We sincerely believe they have a special gift to share with your children.
Meet the Team!
Childcare Director
Thank you for choosing the Early Childhood Professional Development Center, ECPDC, for your childcare needs. I am KeTurah Poole, "Ms. Keke,” and it is my pleasure to serve as the Director of the Childcare Facility. I am a proud Florida State University graduate with a Family and Child Science degree. I have had the privilege of working in the district with children for over 12 years. I am very excited to be a part of the Early Childhood Family and look forward to a wonderful year.
Infant Room
Our infant room has children from about six weeks to a year. Our teacher here is Paulette. The children love to play, and they especially love to crawl up the classroom slide. She enjoys spending time on the floor with the children and helping create a caring, loving, and stimulating environment where children can flourish and start walking. Paulette teaches sign language in her class to help the children better communicate their wants and needs. She is an asset to our program as her long history and experience working with children have allowed her to forge many memories and bonds with them and their families.
1 Year Room (12-18 Months)
Our 1 year old room room has children from 12 months to about 18 months old! Our teacher here is Lia. Lia consistently goes above and beyond for her families. She provides incredible updates through our family communication app, helping to give parents peace of mind. They know, without a doubt, that the children in her care are safe, loved, and learning every day. Lia teaches the children using a very interactive fun curriculum, which helps them develop gross and fine motor skills. The children also learn sign language, music, and art, benefiting from the sensory experiences.
1 Year Room (18-24 Months)
In this room, we have Ms. Marian. Marian has been working with children for over ten years. Her knowledge and skill is a great addition to our team. She loves to sing and read to her children. Her excited, animated voice rings through the classroom capturing the children’s attention as they listen to the amazing stories and songs! She also enjoys taking them on buggy rides to explore outside and discover new things. You can often find her outside showing her children birds, airplanes, and clouds in the sky. In addition to being outside, Marian enjoys arts and crafts with the children. Helping them to develop their fine motor skills further.
2 Year Room
Our teacher here is Mrs. Elke. Elke is originally from Germany. Due to her bilingual background, she conducts circle time in English and German. Elke loves baking yummy treats with the children and introducing them to various kitchen items. She believes learning through experience is the best way to learn. In addition to baking, Elke enjoys creating artwork with the children and exploring different ways to make “art.” Whether from traditional paint or paint made with yogurt, pudding, or even Kool-Aid, she finds a new way to have fun while keeping the children engaged.
3 Year Room
Our Teacher here is Ms. Mary Beth. Mary Beth is very passionate and committed to working with children and finds it a real joy and rewarding to watch their daily growth and development. Mary Beth is famous for her energy, patience, and knowledge of insects and plants. Under Mary Beth’s guidance, the center has a garden that grows strawberries, tomatoes, watermelon, sunflowers, and other seasonal plants. Gardening with the children is something that she has also enjoyed. When not outside, Mary Beth can be found reading to the children their favorite stories and making memories via her creative art projects. The children love to dance, play and learn with Mary Beth.
Floater
Even the best teachers need support and sometimes a break. When that time comes, Ms. Maria is there to help! Although she doesn’t have a classroom, she constantly interacts with all age groups and works behind the scenes to ensure that teachers and children have the necessary supplies. Ms. Maria is a dedicated member of our team. Her positive and lighthearted demeanor is perfect for working with children!
After School
In addition to a full-time childcare center. Our facility also offers a wrap-around after-school service for our VPK children. With more children comes more supervision! Ms. Bree has worked with young children in childcare for years. She encourages children through structured and unstructured play. She is passionate about building speech and language through various activities that provide those “Aha!” moments. Ms. Bree is a fountain of knowledge and loves furthering her education anytime she can! She believes that the more you know, the more you grow!
