We are in the last two weeks of the first grading period. This quarter serves as a “baseline” for our school year providing essential information about your child’s performance that will be used to gauge their progress as the year progresses.This week we began data chats with our 6th-8th grade students and look forward to data chats with 4th and 5th graders next week. During the chats we discuss each student’s 2016 FSA Test Score, current average in English-Language Arts, and student performance data on the STAR Reading Assessment which will be administered 6 times this school year. The information we gather from these data points will determine how we provide support and interventions (before school,during electives or special area, or at other times that do not interfere with ELA or Math classes).If you have questions about our progress monitoring efforts, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Please encourage your child to put forth their very best effort, check the agenda book each night for notes and important updates from teachers, and read the weekly newsletters provided (elementary teachers) for information on skills being taught and upcoming assessments.
