The Academy of Computer Integrated Manufacturing (AOCIM)

ManufactoringThe Academy of Computer Integrated Manufacturing (AOCIM) provides students with a foundation of knowledge and technically oriented experiences in the study of the applications of engineering and its effect upon society. The AOCIM mission is to provide students with a foundation of knowledge and technically oriented experiences in the study of the applications of engineering and its effect upon society. To accomplish this goal, Computer Integrated Manufacturing has a hands-on project driven curriculum that focuses on the fundamental concepts of engineering design analysis, robotics and the production processes and systems used in the automated manufacturing industry. This program emphasizes certified transferable skills that are nationally recognized and stresses the understanding and demonstration of the technological tools, machines, instruments, materials, processes and systems in the advanced manufacturing business and industry. This course also applies principles of robotics and automation and builds on computer solid modeling skills that they will develop in the initial course of the program, Introduction to Engineering. Students also use computer numerical controlled equipment to produce actual models of their three- dimensional designs. The content and activities will also include the study of safety, quality assurance and leadership skills.
