The Memphis Belle: A Story of a Flying Fortress
Presented by Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall
Friday, Nov 09, 2018

The famed 1944 World War II documentary by renowned Hollywood filmmaker William Wyler takes audiences aboard the final mission of the U.S. Army Air Force's first heavy bomber to fly 25 sorties over Europe during World War II. Through the eyes of its crew, the documentary highlights the courage of the soldiers who manned this enormous aircraft and the treacherous missions they carried out.

Happily Ever After
Presented by Tallahassee Hispanic Theatre at the Monticello Opera House
Nov 02, 2018 - Nov 03, 2018

Happily Ever After is an evening of short plays and monologues reflecting on love and relationships. The short plays (Misunderstandings, Don't Take it Personally and Melodrama) present couples in three different stages of a relationship, along with some of the challenges, fears, and insecurities which many couples face. The monologues (An Ugly Boyfriend and Perceptions) share insights into the minds of two women struggling with jealousy and self-doubt. Written by the Spanish playwright Cristina Colmena, Happily Ever After presents a tender, intimate and sometimes comical look at the complicated path that many relationships take.

Bach Parley Autumn Concert
Presented by Tallahassee Bach Parley at St. John's Episcopal Church
Sunday, Nov 11, 2018

This Bach Parley concert will feature two Bach Cantatas, numbers 61 and 150, with musicians playing period instruments and the Bach Parley Chamber Singers. Music director Valerie Arsenault will explain what cantatas are, how they are structured, and how they are alike and different from an opera or an oratorio.

The French word "parley" means discussion, and a key element of Bach Parley concerts is the commentary to discuss historical context for the composers and their world and to offer suggestions about what to listen for in the music. These conversational remarks create a relaxed concert atmosphere and connect the audience with the performers.

A Moveable Murderous Macbeth
Presented by Mickee Faust Club for the Really Dramatic Arts at Mickee Faust Clubhouse
Nov 08, 2018 - Nov 17, 2018

With its witches, wars, and cold-blooded murders, Macbeth is the perfect play for the chilly days of November.  And when the audience is asked to physically follow the action of the play and even get their own hands "bloodied" as part of admission, then you know it's the Mickee Faust Club's take on that Shakespearean classic.
