Overview

In this class our primary goal is to mature in the development, use and understanding of the English language. Through close analysis of specific texts, we will explore genre, theme, and rhetoric. We guide our instruction with Florida’s standards in preparation for Florida Standards Assessment. By the end of this course studentswill all be thoughtful readers and strategic writers. By the end of this course, students will be able to analyze texts and produce clear and coherent writing in which the development, organization, and style are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience.
