All students need to be checking their email and my planbook for their weekly assignments moving forward. If you have not emailed me to let me know you are recieving my emails, please do so as soon as possible!
Please use the tabs to the left to navigate through the information you will need to begin online coursework.
Hello Students, and welcome to the 4th quarter of Eighth Grade Science! I miss you all dearly, but understand that we are doing our best to protect those who are most vulnerable in the community by staying home.
Each week moving forward I will be posting the agenda. This will be posted EVERY MONDAY morning. It will have a list of things for you to accomplish and turn in before Friday, when the work will be due. The list will include:
- A PowerPoint of the unit we will be focusing on for that week, narrated by me. (This will be done live on Mondays at 10:00 AM, recorded for those who are not able to log on during that time)
- Short questions on the PowerPoint*
- Supplemental videos (2 to 3, will typically be youtube videos unless otherwise stated)
- Activity* (will be available as a pdf and can be printed or done on the computer)
- Discussion post* (I will divide you into groups and everyone must participate for a grade)
- Quiz* (every Friday)
On my website I will be sure to post my expectations, and resources to help you navigate our transition to online learning. I will also be holding office hours every week day from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM where I will be readily available at my computer if you need me. You can still reach me through email and remind throughout the day but I can guarantee my quickest response time during those office hours.
I will also be setting up appointment times through calendly, which you can access using the following link: https://www.leonschools.net/LearnAtHome These appointments are set aside for you if you need one on one help with any of the work you have been assigned.
I will be contacting you via email with what needs to be accomplished throughout the week, but you will also need to become familiar with Microsoft Teams, which can be found on your classlink page. I have posted a blurb in each class asking you to respond “hello” on your class’ page so I know who has access to teams as well.
Once I have more information for you I will get it to you. I know these are unprecedented times and I will do my BEST to be as flexible as possible to make this a smooth transition. I know that some of you may be feeling a lot of different ways right now, especially this being your last year of middle school. However, if being your teacher these last few months has taught me ANYTHING, it’s that you will get through this and come out stronger on the other side! Let’s do this thing!
Talk to you soon,
