ACE helps students prepare for and find a future

  • Leon County Schools Adult & Education (ACE) Career Pathways is a program designed and implemented to assist and enable students to advance over time to successively higher levels of education and employment in a given industry or occupational sector. Each step on a career pathway is designed to prepare students to progress to the next level of employment and education. The career pathways approach is a framework for weaving together adult education, training and post-secondary programs, and connecting those services to the workforce needs of employers.

Students at ACE are introduced to the Career Pathways program and transition advisor during their week-long orientation class.  The advisor shares the program and what services are available to students. Based on students’ TABE/Official Practice Test scores classroom teachers will refer students for an appointment with the transition advisor.  During meetings, students will continue work in their career portfolio, complete college and financial aid applications, job applications and any other necessary requirements that may be a roadblock to successful transition into post-secondary.

Once students have graduated from ACE and transitioned to post-secondary the advisor’s services are still available to them as long as needed
