    ***OLD ANNOUNCEMENTS (below)***
ATTENTION:  Each class' weekly agenda and directions to receive Remind text messages (for homework) have been added to my FOCUS web pages.  The weekly agenda should be updated each Monday evening.  Students are also given time on the first day of each week to write down their class' agenda in their own planner that the school gave them.  Please send me an email with any questions.  (updated 1/13/20)

***6th grade students can correct the wrong answers on any D or F assessment by showing evidence of how to do the problems correctly and finding the correct answer.  The corrections must be turned in attached to the original (unchanged) assessment.  Ms. Jackson will then regrade the corrections and students will receive half credit for the new correct answers up to a grade of a C.  Students should also turn in all missing assignments as soon as possible!  ***7th grade students can retake their 4-question standards quizzes when they receive a D or F and the re-take grade will replace their previous grade.  They can also correct any unit tests that they score a D or F on like is described above for 6th grade students.  (updated 10/2/19)

IMPORTANT:  All students are given time in class to write the week's agenda in their personal planners.  Ms. Jackson stamps on Friday of the week when it is completed like requested. Ms. Jackson also posts the agenda on this teacher's website and it can be found by clicking on the link on the left-side of the web page.  It is usually posted on Monday evenings.  (revised 9/24/18)

NOTE:  "Remind" directions are available for each class. Weekly agendas should be updated each Monday evening. Your student is given the opportunity and time to write the weekly agenda in their own planners each Monday in class.

ATTENTION PARENTS: STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SEARCH THE INTERNET FOR ANSWERS TO THEIR HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS OR QUIZZES!  THIS IS CHEATING AND WILL NOT BENEFIT THE STUDENT.  PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.

ALL 6th & 7th GRADE STUDENTS:  Make sure that you are doing your homework every night.  Please don't get behind.  Please ask questions when you need help.  Remember, my.hrw (through ClassLink) has tutorial videos and extra guided practice problems available.

7TH GRADE MATH STUDENTS (revised 10/2/19):

We began using the consumable textbook during the second week of school.  Students should be bringing home their module pages every night.  I would love for students to "preview" their lessons every night.  This means that your student should read the lesson, make notes or underline any really important information from the lesson that will need to be written down as notes in their Math Journals, answer all questions throughout the lesson, and do the "your turn" problems and the problems on the "guided practice" page.  The following day in class, the lesson will be discussed and answers to the questions and problems will be given.  Any questions will be answered and students will then be able to begin the problems from the "independent practice" page.  The students will need to complete the problems assigned as homework and then preview for the next lesson.  Any time a student is unsure of the lesson, they can indicate beside their answers those questions to make sure they get their questions answered during class discussion.  There are also practice problems and tutorial videos available online.

6TH GRADE MATH STUDENTS (revised 10/2/19):

You should also be previewing like is instructed above for the 7th grade students. Your class is also using the consumable textbook.
