Reporting of Positive cases and Exposures

  • If your student tests positive for COVID-19, or has been exposed to someone else who tests positive, please contact your school.

     Anyone experiencing flu-like symptoms should contact their physician for guidance.

If your test result comes back positive - Employee or Student

  • Quarantine protocol when test result is positive  

    • Either 10 days starting from the date symptoms started OR 10 days from the date you were tested with a positive result, whichever one occurred first. Can return on Day 11. 

    Contact tracing for identified exposures 

    • Once a positive case is identified, LCS administrators will look back 48 hours from time of test or start of symptoms to include anyone closer than 6’ for more than 15 minutes, with or without a mask.

     

Exposed to a positive case - Employee or Student

  • Employees –  Employee Decision Tree Chart PDF

    • If FULLY vaccinated, or tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 90 days 
      • If the employee is ASYMPTOMATIC , NO ACTION IS REQUIRED
      • If the employee is SYMPTOMATIC SENT HOME and advised to see physician.
    • If Employee tests Positive - Quarantine for 10 days, return on day 11 if asymptomatic and fever free 48 hours w/o medication
    • If NOT fully vaccinated, the employee should leave and get tested as soon as possible (Rapid or PCR). At-home COVID-19 test results and antibody test results will not be accepted. 
      • If authorized test is NEGATIVE and asymptomatic, employee returns to work.
      • If authorized test is POSITIVE, full 10 DAY quarantine will be required. 

    Students –  Student Decision Tree Chart PDF

    • If FULLY vaccinated, or tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 90 days
      • If the student is ASYMPTOMATIC NO ACTION IS REQUIRED
      • If the student is SYMPTOMATIC SENT HOME and advised to see physician.
    • If Student tests Positive - Quarantine for 10 days, return on day 11 if asymptomatic and fever free 48 hours w/o medication
    • If NOT fully vaccinated,the student has two choices  
      • Quarantine 7 days from date of last exposure, return on Day 8 if asymptomatic and fever free for 48 hours w/o medication.
        OR
      • Quarantine 4 days, test on day 5 and return if authorized test (showing students name) is negative, asymptomatic and fever free for 48 hours w/o medication. At-home COVID-19 test results and antibody test results will not be accepted. 

Positive case in Household

  • Anyone fully vaccinated or tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 90 days AND asymptomatic, does not require testing or quarantine. 

    Employee – See above. If NOT fully vaccinated, the employee can test (Rapid or PCR) after the last person in the household (under the same roof) is cleared. If test results are negative and the employee is asymptomatic, they can return to work. At-home COVID-19 test results and antibody test results will not be accepted.  

    Student – If NOT fully vaccinated, student must quarantine until the last person in the household (under the same roof) has finished their quarantine, then:

    • 7 days from date of *last exposure; if asymptomatic, can return on Day 8

        OR

    • 4 days from date of *last exposure, can test on Day 5 (Rapid or PCR) and return immediately with a negative test result indicating the student's name. At-home COVID-19 test results and antibody test results will not be accepted

    * The date of exposure is Day 1.
