Mrs. Day
My name is Day Harrington (Mrs. Day); welcome to my Language Arts class!
I've been teaching English/Language Arts for ten years. I taught in Germany, Bulgaria, South Korea, and I've been at Cobb Middle School for five years. I love to travel (as you may have guessed). I also love my family very much - my two children are the most wonderful creatures on the planet, in this or any other dimension. Here are some of my other favorite things (yes, there will be a quiz): mountains, cool weather, warm hugs, Douglas Adams, Jane Austen, P.G. Wodehouse, Shakespeare, movies about superheroes, BBC TV, coffee, babies, the kindness of strangers, organization, maps, animals, chocolate (but, really, who doesn't love animals and chocolate? I might as well say I like The Beatles and breathing oxygen), folk music, soul/motown music, Instagram, YouTube, fashion blogs, swimming, and costume parties. And I love, love, love teaching. I genuinely believe that my job is important. I believe that teaching children to think more broadly, read more deeply, and collaborate more effectively is a worthwhile and meaningful way to spend my time. I go to work happy every day because I love what I do.
That's me, folks; I look forward to meeting you!
