• Behavior Plan

We have a chart in our classroom with E,S+,S,S-. Students start with their name tags on S each day and are encouraged to move their tags to S+ and E throughout the day. Students move tags up by following school/classroom rules, being helpful, participating in class discussion, and being kind to others.

I find that starting the day on S and encouraging students' to "earn up" creates a positive, collaborative classroom environment.

Occasionally, students move their tags down to S- for being off-task or not following directions/rules.

Daily behavior is recorded in the planner.

The student planners were distributed the first week of school and are a useful tool to help your child stay organized. They are kept in a binder and are to be brought to school each day. Students will write important messages in their planners. I will write their daily behavior letter (E, S+, S, S-) Important documents and homework will be placed in the front pocket of the binder as well. Please be sure to check planner binders regularly.

ELA homework will go home on Day 1 of the Wonders unit and will have the due date on it. Math homework will go home daily and is due the next day. Homework should take 10-15 minutes a couple of evenings a week and is meant to be a quick glimpse of what we are doing in class. I do not want you or your child to feel overwhelmed by a large homework task. In my opinion, the best thing to do at home is encourage reading each night.

    Friday Folders

Friday Folders will be sent home each week. They will have completed class work, as well as other projects. All work inside the folder is to be kept at home and the Friday Folder should be returned on Mondays.

Our class will have a snack break in the afternoons. Please send your child with a snack each day. If you would like to send in a class snack, I will pass it out to the class the day that it is sent.
