Degrees and Certifications:
BA, Biological Science/ Secondary Science Education, Florida State University
Mr. Michael Moran
I was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts but my family moved to South Florida when I was a teenager. I moved to Tallahassee to attend Florida State University (Go Noles!), where I graduated in 2015 with a dual Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and Secondary Science Education. I am thrilled to be able to teach Biology in the IB Prep Program and I am certified to teach Biology (6-12) and Middle Grades General Science (5-9). I believe that science is a discovery process in which my students will learn to think critically and observe the world around them. A critical skill in our year of 2020!
During the (normal) summers, I teach a Forensic Science course through the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) summer program, which gives me a fantastic opportunity to teach nontraditional material to high achieving students outisde of the public school setting. Outside of work, I am an avid football and ice hockey fan. I read as many books as my spare time allows, and spend time with the wonderful (soon-to-be) Mrs. Moran and our very spoiled cat who we adopted five years ago!
