Welcome to the Leon County Schools Transportation Department. As the Director it is my duty and pleasure to serve you and the 12,000 students who ride our school buses each day. You may be surprised to know that Leon County Schools buses travel approximately 5,500,000 miles per year picking up and dropping off students at over 6,500 bus stops daily.
By way of this website it is my goal to give you access to valuable information regarding the Transportation Department directly from your computer.
On the left side of the page you will find links that will direct you to the various departments that make up Leon County Schools Transportation. For information about your child’s bus stops or bus route, please visit the Find Route by School or Find Route by Address page. For bus times or items left on the bus, please visit the Compound page. Buses are assigned to a Compound based on the bus number and the school the bus serves. For information on Field Trips, Outside Agency Summer Camps or Homeless Student Transportation, please visit the Special Operations page. For information on becoming a Leon County Schools Bus Driver or for Employment Opportunities please visit the Training/Recruitment page.
Leon County Schools Transportation goes green! As we move toward becoming a more eco-friendly generation, the Transportation Department is working to lessen our carbon foot print. We are gradually converting our bus fleet from diesel fuel powered buses to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses. This will assist to help keep the air clean and ultimately lower energy usage costs. We have also partnered with No Petro to open the first public/private CNG fuelling station to further our mission of environmental responsibility. Finally, we are excited with anticipation as we expand our Southwest Capital Circle location with a new state of the art Vehicle Maintenance garage and expanded bus compound facilities.
I hope you find this website and its information very helpful. Should you have any questions please feel free to contact me, Manny Joanos or my Executive Assistant, Veronica Scott through email or by calling the Transportation administrative office at (850) 488-2636
.
We look forward to servicing your child’s school transportation needs.
Thank you,
