    Hi everyone.  By now everyone should have completed the 1st - 5th assignments, which was to Read over the Communications Essentials Lesson 1 - 5 PowerPoints & complete the interactive PDF associated with it.  This is not a difficult assignment.  The document is on my website, attached on the gradebook in the files section, uploaded in TEAMS, and sent to the Digital Tools group as well.  This week you will be working on ICT Communication Essentials practice tests.  These tests need to be completed and passed with a 60% or better by the end of the quarter.  Below are instructions how to log in.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

     

    The county is taking weekly attendance and it is mandatory that you check in with your teachers at least once a week in order to be marked present.

    Web Tools
    The Web Tools course at Montford continuous evolution of how reading, writing, and sharing of information is viewed and applied. The use of graphic imagery, animation, video, audio, and special effects are playing an increasing role in how concepts are communicated within one society or across many and diverse societies. The three essential digital tools in this domain span the complex concepts and means of communicating using web, multimedia, and gaming technologies.
     
    Web Design Essentials 
    The Web Design Essentials digital tool focuses on fundamentals of designing websites. Students will learn to identify elements of a webpage, and will evaluate the looks and functionality of websites. You will learn the steps in the web design process, such as figuring out a website purpose, goals, target audience, planning the site content, structure, and navigation. You will also explore web authoring tools. You will be introduced to the technical aspects of the Internet and the World Wide Web. Students will build a website using a GUI web editor, and will create webpages that include audio, video, and animation. Finally, students will prepare their websites for publishing. You will learn about web hosting services, domain names, uploading files, implementation issues (bandwidth, compression, streaming) and collaboration tools (wikis, blogs).
     

    Multimedia Essentials

    The Multimedia Essentials digital tool teaches students fundamental multimedia skills, including how to use presentation software, graphics software, and other digital and multimedia tools. Students will create a slide presentation with titles, text, and images. You will also use transitions, animation, and sound in the presentation. Students will study graphics topics including vector and bitmap images, file formats, and terms related to the creation of graphical images. In addition, they will use graphics software tools to create, enhance, and modify and images. Finally, students will create a multimedia presentation that incorporates edited video, animation, and sound, and that demonstrates good design, smooth transitions, and effective message delivery.

    Gaming Essentials
    The Gaming Essentials digital tool focuses on fundamentals of interactive computer game creation. Students will learn about the design process for creating a gaming program, including criteria and constraint identification, content research and storyboard creation. You will also study computer programming concepts that are essential to game development, including program flow modeling, program code creation, and result evaluation and modification practices.
