Mission and Vision Statement

  • The Second Chance mission is to provide a learning environment that allows elementary, middle, and high school students to experience behavior success. Our goal is to provide an educational foundation that promotes integrity, self-worth, and lifelong learning that fosters healthy, productive, responsible members of society.

Dress Code

  • Pants  – Khaki

    • Must be button-zipper style pants with belt loops.
    • Must be worn around the student’s waistline (no sagging).
    • Belt must be worn with shirt tucked.

    Shirts – Black Collar Shirt (polo style)   

    • No decorations, advertisements, or other insignia.
    • No see-through shirts.
    • Students must be able to lift their arms in their shirts without exposing their midriffs.
    • Color undergarments must not be visible.  

    Shoes must be solid black, brown or white.

    Jackets and sweatshirts must be solid black with no decorations or insignias.

    • Hoodies, hooded shirts, hooded sweatshirts or hooded jackets are not permitted on campus.

LCS Media Center and Classroom Library Access

  • In accordance HB 1069 (2023), Leon County School Board has approved the attached process for those parents that would like to limit their child’s access to media center and classroom libraries.  

    Only parents that want to limit their child’s access will need to complete the FOCUS form.  LCS plans to open Media Centers for student check out on Monday, August 14th. If you plan to limit your child’s access please complete form as soon as possible. The directions for completing the FOCUS form are on the form below.

  • 2024-25 Student Orientation

    Our 2024-25 School Year Student Orientation will be on August 8, 2024 at 12 pm - 2 pm. Pizza lunch will be provided and a free school shirt for students while supplies last.
