This is my 36th year teaching and I still get as excited about teaching as I did when I started way back in 1980!!  I love my job and I am doing what I have been called to do.  Your child is so very important to me and I look forward to seeing the growth they make this year in pre-k.

I was born and raised in Tallahassee and I attended Leon County Schools, Leonard Wesson, W.T. Moore Elementary Schools, Cobb Middle School and Leon High School!!!  After my graduation in 1976 from Leon I went to Tallahassee Community College and then on to Florida State University where I received a B.S in Early Childhood Education.  At that time I left the nest and traveled to Apalachicola, where I taught for 5 years teaching 1st, 2nd and 4/5 combination classes. Always loving the beach I moved to Mexico Beach  shortly after the start of my career.  I met and married my husband, Wayne in 1984 and started teaching in Port St. Joe at PSJ Elementary School in the 5th grade.  We moved to Tallahassee in 1987 and have been here since.  I taught 1/2 combination class at a private school, then in Gadsden County and finally landed a job at Griffin Middle School.  After 3 years I changed jobs wanting to get back into elementary school.  I taught at Apalachee Elementary for 9 years before getting my dream job at Roberts in kindergarten.  This is the start of my 15th year at Roberts.  This is also my last year of teaching as I will retire in May of 2016.

My family is my life!  Wayne and I have been married 31 years.  We have 3 daughters, Meghann, Elizabeth and Laura.  We have a beautiful granddaughter, Alyssa.  Wayne and I became empty nesters last year which was a big adjustment but we still have our furbabies, Lindy and Winnie who keep us active.  My passions in life besides my family are reading, using my Silhouette machine , and the Florida State Seminoles (Go Noles)!!!!

I am excited to take your child on the learning ride in pre-kindergarten.  We will be working hard on getting ready for kindergarten.  I can honestly say that I have loved my time teaching and I will make this last year my best!!!!
