Let me begin by saying that I love being a teacher at Roberts Elementary and I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to work with such a wonderful staff, terrific students and supportive parents!  I am so lucky.  I have been a third grade teacher at Roberts since 2001, when the school opened.  This is my twenty-sixth year of teaching and it is quite surreal to think that I have been teaching more than half of my life!  I have both a bachelors and masters degree in elementary education from Troy University.

On a personal note, I grew up in Tallahassee with my husband, whom I eventually married eighteen years ago.  We have been blessed with two boys and an extended family here in Tallahassee.  Our boys are in eleventh and ninth grade and attend Chiles High School.  We also have a dog, Lucy, whom we adore.  Our family enjoys spending time at the beach, fishing and basically anything in the outdoors.  We also enjoy watching sporting events like football and baseball.  Family time is very important to me, especially since the realization that my oldest may be leaving the nest in two years! 

Third grade is quite a year academically and socially.  A big focus this year will be on developing independent learners and we will do this together.  With that being said, hold on for a fabulous third grade year!
