• Volunteering
    Chaires Elementary LOVES our volunteers!  It is through the incredible support of our volunteers and community that we continue to be an A school.  You can volunteer from your home, office, or in a classroom.  You can volunteer before, after, or during the school day.  You can volunteer in our office, media center, or in a classroom.  There are so many opportunities, and we appreciate every minute of your valued time.
     
    Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities

    Book Fair:

    Book Fair is scheduled for Monday, February 2nd. Parents are needed to help students choose books and check out. If you are available to help, please contact Karen Dietrich at dietrichk@leonschools.net.

    Blue Pops:

    The next Blue Pops day will be Friday, February 13th. We need a couple of parents that are willing to count blue pops and distribute them to classroom teachers from 10:30 until 1:00. Please contact chairespto@gmail.com if you are available to volunteer.

    Field Day:

     
    Field Day is scheduled for Friday, March 13th.  We need all available parents to help run the various stations at Field Day.  If parents wish to walk with a child's class to each station, they will need to volunteer the time OPPOSITE their child's class.  Volunteers can work 8:00-2:30.  Please contact chairespto@gmail.com if you are able to volunteer.

    Mentor a Child 
    Mentors work one to one with a child selected by a classroom teacher and our Guidance Counselor to help improve needed academic skills.  Many mentors read with a child 30 minutes once a week or work on math skills. For many children that is their favorite time of the week...when a person gives him/her that valued special attention.
